Born in Liberec, Czech Republic, Josef grew up playing multiple sports, including ice hockey, tennis, and football, before fully committing to golf at the age of 12. His passion for the game led him to earn a Master’s Degree in Sports Management from Charles University in Prague (2014–2020) while simultaneously pursuing his PGA qualification (2020–2023).
Josef gained valuable experience working with the Czech Golf Federation, leading public open days and Olympic Festival roadshows. He later joined the operations team at PGA National Oaks Prague, named Europe’s Best Golf Course 2020, before taking on the role of Academy Manager at Prague City Golf. In this position, he oversaw all aspects of coaching across three golf courses in Prague.
As an amateur golfer, Josef achieved notable success, including:
- 2× Order of Merit winner on local junior tours
- 3rd place at the 2014 World Amateur Golfers Championship (Durban, SA)
- 4× National University Champion and 6th place at the European University Championship (2017)
- Team captain of Prague City Golf (2017–2022), leading the team to a 3rd-place finish in the Czech Extraliga (2022)
- Course Record 65 at Prague City Golf Zbraslav (Challenge Tour course)
Josef takes a holistic approach to coaching, specializing in beginner and junior development. His philosophy is simple: teach students how to play the game, not just hit the ball.
